Dr. Noble Zachariah. MD


Dr. Noble Zachariah is a specialist in General Medicine
 who combines academic excellence with empathetic patient care.

His leading light is Dr. Ida S. Scudder,
 the founder of Christian Medical College & Hospital, Vellore
 where he did both his MBBS and MD.

He has over 25 years of experience
 in General Medicine and the subspecialties and
has worked in premier institutions like
CMCH, Vellore;
Railway Head Quarters Hospital, Madras;
Salmaniaya Medical Centre ( Medical College Hospital), Bahrain;
 Malankara Medical Mission Hospital, Kolencherry etc.

He is also a Cardiologist and Medical Examiner for LIC of India.

He is most interested in the treatment of Diabetes.  He has helped hundreds of Type 2 diabetics to avoid insulin injections with proper education and judicious use of tablets. In a study presented at  Diabetes in Asia Conference- 2001 he has shown that upto 80% of the Type 2 diabetics on Insulin could be taken off Insulin with his approach.

Another area of his interest is Cardiology. His thesis work in Cardiology was presented at a Cardiology conference in Taiwan. Due to his interest in lung diseases, he has imported the latest PC based Spirometer, which can also estimate the risk in people who have family history of Asthma or COPD or are smokers. It also estimates how much reduction can be expected on stopping smoking. People with undiagnosed or uncontrolled breathlessness benefit as it helps in diagnosis and optimising treatment.  He is also interested in Gastrointestinal and liver problems and does endoscopy  and ultrasound scanning. He believes that practising medicine is as much an art as it is a science and in the role of the mind in the causation of many diseases.

Social Service has been a part of his life. He was a member of the Student Christian Movement and attended several work camps in the remote villages of Tamil Nadu when he was a student at CMC, Vellore. While in India he used to conduct at least one free clinic per month. In Kuwait he has conducted 6 free clinics over the last 12 months and is willing to help any social organisation wanting to hold free medical camps.

Dr. Noble's wife Dr. Daisy is an ENT specialist and they are blessed with 3 daughters. The eldest is a medical student at CMC Vellore and the others are in school.
